• The moisture content of cumin powder should not exceed 10%. High moisture content can lead to spoilage and mold growth.
• Cumin powder should have a minimum volatile oil content of 2.2%. Volatile oil is responsible for the characteristic aroma and flavor of cumin.
• The total ash content of cumin powder should not exceed 9.0%. Ash is the inorganic residue remaining after combustion and can indicate the presence of impurities.
